Vehicle Description 1972 Mercedes-Benz 508D car carrier for sale! Motorcar Classics is proud to present this awesome 1972 Mercedes 508D Custom Car Carrier.
The Mercedes-Benz T2 was a COE (cab over engine) semi-bonneted light commercial vehicle manufactured by Daimler-Benz.
The T2 is also known as the Dsseldorf Transporter, since it was built in Dsseldorf from 1967 to 1986.
Power is provided by a 5.
7L six-cylinder diesel motor.
This truck was originally sold locally by Syosset Truck to a cabinet finishing craftsman in Sayville, NY, and used commercially by him through 2014.
The second owner committed the truck to a total nut amp; bolt restoration including a clipped and extended frame, custom LED lighting in front, custom backlit Mercedes emblem on the back of the cab, 18 custom gold zinc plated swivel tie-downs, built-in receiver for hitch, backup camera, stereo sound system, Alcoa wheels all around, new tires, 4-wheel air bag suspension with on-board compressor, F450 steering and drive axles, color-matched bedliner, and more.
The restoration is fully documented with $145K in receipts.
The engine compartment and undercarriage are fully detailed and the truck has been driven just about 150 miles since completion.
This truck is in superb condition and would be ideally suited to showing and transporting a fine vintage automobile or transporting a vintage race car.
