Purchasing Agent

Be a part of an award winning team! We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to help support our Procurement team. Please read on to learn more about our company and the Purchasing role!

Responsibilities:

Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.

Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.

Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.

Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience is required

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is required

Ability to work overtime when required

Polished presentation with strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, ?especially? Excel, Outlook) and Google Drive Able to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude

Proactive

Strong organizational and administrative skills

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
